O U R F A M I L Y
Our family consists of four humans and many furkids. Scott, my husband,
and I have been married since 1973. In 1977, we were delighted by the birth of our twin
daughters, Kerrie and Kimberly. Kerrie and Kimberly have always been the light of our lives, and
we were especially proud after their graduation from The University of the Incarnate Word with
honors in 2000 -
Kerrie obtained a BA in nursing and is a registered nurse, and Kimberly obtained a double Bachelors (English and Communications) and
works for the San Antonio Public Library.
Scott has been a draftsman using AutoCad for over thirty years.
After many years of working outside of the home in the secretarial field, I am now enjoying being
a work-at-home mom doing medical and legal transcription. I am also a full-time Greyhound mom,
serving as president of
Heart of Texas Greyhound Adoption, Inc, a
501(c)(3) corporation, a long-time dream of Scott and I, which we helped form in 2000, being
more involved in Greyhound adoption
and rescue, providing in-home boarding for Greyhounds, and using my God-given talents to build
CHERKOTTS, a home-based business which will donate a portion of every sale to Greyhound adoption
groups.
Our family became active in Greyhound adoption after adopting our first Greyhound,
Smoo's Miss Polly, in November 1992. Over well over 1,000 Greyhounds have passed through our hearts and homes
on their way to their "forever homes". In order to facilitate our involvement, we moved
our family from the city to the country in 1995. And now, we live on 3.5 fully-fenced acres to the
delight of our resident Greyhounds and numerous fosters.
CHERKOTTS is a composite of our names - Cheryl and Scott. This is truly the
basis of our married life - sharing and caring. Scott and I share a love of family, a love of God,
and a love and passion for Greyhounds. Along with our Greyhounds, we have several felines who serve as the initial
"cat testers" for our group and live in harmony with the Greyhounds who come in and out of our home.
Thank you for visiting my web site, and thank you in advance for your order and for helping the
Greyhounds!
